Reasons to Donate Your 2017 Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) to the ICD USA Section Foundation

November 22, 2017 — Have you considered donating your RMD to the ICD USA Section Foundation? These distributions can give tax breaks and provide a convenient way to support dental projects and programs supported by the ICD USA Section Foundation. IRA’s, 401(k)’s or Roth IRA’s (if the owner is deceased) are subject to an annual Required Minimal Distribution (RMD) once the owner reaches age 70 1/2. The IRA or 401(k) plan account administrator or owner’s financial adviser/CPA will calculate the annual RMD amount that must be distributed. District 9 News — ICD Fellows Volunteered at the Michigan MOM Event

June 13, 2018 — Dr. Stephen R. Harris and Dr. Connie M. Verhagen have organized the Michigan Mission of Mercy (MOM) events for the past few years. This year, the Michigan Mission of Mercy Event was held May 31 - June 3, 2018, at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, MI. Dr. Michele Tulak-Gorecki, in addition to many other ICD Fellows, volunteered at the Michigan Dental Association and the Michigan Dental Association Foundation statewide dental access program; Michigan Mission of Mercy Event. June 4, 2018 — On May 23, 2018, LSU Health New Orleans School of Dentistry opened the Advanced Clinical Care and Research Building on its campus at 1100 Florida Avenue. The $31 million, 64,899 square foot building houses $2.5 million of medical equipment, 4 clinics, and research labs. I had been to four other countries in Central America to help with projects, but never to Honduras.
