April 12, 2019 — HERO! This is what a hero looks like. As you all know on February 15th, 2019 there was a mass shooting at the Henry Pratt Company here in Aurora, Illinois. There were 6 policemen injured and 4 sustained gunshot wounds. This is our patient and HERO Reynaldo - one of the Aurora policeman that was hit by gunfire that day. March 30, 2019 — Message from District 1 Regent, Eliot Paisner: I am going to do it! This seasoned guy plans to ride the 2019 Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC), a 192 mile 2-day bicycle ride from Sturbridge, MA to Provincetown, MA. The purpose of the ride is to raise funds for cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. I am inspired to this challenge by my little friend and hero, “CC”, a 3-year-old boy recently diagnosed with leukemia. CC is bravely undergoing extensive treatments for his cancer at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. 100% of the funds raised go to Dana Farber research. He was born in an Irish section of Fall River, Massachusetts, the oldest of eleven children. March 5, 2019 — Mission Trip to Guatemala Dr. Kramer and the Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine-Arizona went on their 6th service trip to Guatemala. Five faculty members, one spouse and fourteen students traveled from February 23 through March 2, 2019, during their Spring Break. They treated patients in Tecpan and San Andreas Iztapa, working out of two dental clinics that DOCARE has helped fund and start. Dr. Kramer and their team traveled with a contingent of faculty, students and return volunteers to provide a range of services from internal medicine, women's health, Occupational Therapy, podiatry, optometry, dentistry, pharmacy and lab work. District 9 News — Dr. Chris Hansen's Mission Trip to the Dominican Republic

March 5, 2019 — Dr. Hansen, his wife Ann and their team treated 80 patients who were trucked in from a nearby village, 128 extractions, a dozen or so restorations and one cleaning. Mrs. Hansen said "the people wear their very best clothes and had to wait until the very last patient was seen before they loaded the truck for a 3-hour trek back to their village. The picture of all of them loaded in the back of that Daihatsu, gauze hanging from their mouths, departing under the light of the moon brought many of us to tears."
