Course Description: This course is designed for dentists, dental assistants, hygienists, and other interested parties who want to learn more about the nuts and bolts of volunteering around the world or around the block. It will also be useful for those with some volunteering experience looking for new ideas or just validation of what they are doing. 


Francis Serio, DMD, MS, MBA, FADI, FICD, FACD has been in dental education and clinical practice for over 38 years. He is currently a full-time staff dentist for Greene County Health Care, Inc., a Federally Qualified Health Center in eastern North Carolina. Dr. Serio is founder and director of the Dominican Dental Mission Project. Over a span of 37 years, this project has provided in excess of $19 million of services to 63,000 of the rural poor of the Dominican Republic.
