The Georgia Section of the ICD and the
MCG School of Dentistry A Great Team

The International College of Dentists (ICD), through the Georgia section, has been very supportive of the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry for a number of years. Each year the national ICD allows us to present a leadership award to an outstanding student with a $1,000 leadership scholarship. We also recognized one faculty member for his teaching and leadership with a $1,000 award.

The Georgia Section of the ICD was very instrumental in the initiation of the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry White Coat Ceremony in 2003. Dr. Gerritt Hagman was very instrumental in helping launch this meaningful ceremony where second year students are presented with their white coats and welcomed into the profession. This ceremony highlights the importance of ethical behavior and professionalism in dentistry. Each year since that time the ICD, ACD and the MCG School of Dentistry Alumni Association have covered the expenses for white coats and a reception following the ceremony...
