Do you remember how you felt when you received your ICD Fellowship? Someone recognized the qualities you possessed that distinguished you as one worthy of that honor. These are the characteristics you should look for in a potential candidate.

If you know of a dentist deserving of Fellowship, write a letter to your Deputy Regent summarizing the potential candidate’s qualifications. He or she will then begin the process with the screeners and counselors. After the screening committee approves your nominee, they will then ask you to invite the nominee to complete a Candidate Information Form. Obtain one or two letters of recommendation from ICD Fellows. Send all of the material back to your Deputy Regent for processing.

The process can take some time. It is important to identify worthy candidates now so that they may be included in the 2006 class to be inducted in Las Vegas this coming October.

Don’t forget about this summer’s upcoming Continuing Education Conference in beautiful Halifax, Nova Scotia. Board Meetings will be held on July 11 and 12, the continuing education program will be on July 13 and 14 and the optional Post Tour to the Cape Breton Islands and the surrounding area will be July 15 – 21. Interesting speakers and fun packed side trips are planned. If you have never attended one of these events, try it once and you will make it one of your yearly priority events. You get few chances to socialize with such a great group of people. Additional information concerning this Conference is forthcoming from the Central Office.
