ICD SAN ANTONIO HOTEL ROOM BLOCK FULL

As of this date, the ICD hotel in San Antonio - Grand Hyatt - is full, and the ADA has given us a small block of rooms in the Drury Plaza hotel. Once the Drury Plaza is filled, the ADA will block rooms for ICD at another San Antonio hotel.

Hotel map: Go to www.ada.org/goto/session, click on "Attendee Resource", and then click on "Plan your trip", click on "Explore San Antonio hotels". Print the two-page map and list of ADA hotels to use as a reference while registering. Hotel addresses, rates, and distances from our hotel, the Grand Hyatt, are printed on the list. Check the ADA website for hotel availability: https://reg.itsmeetings.com/its/
0810ADASAT/AssociatedGroups.asp
(The first page should show a box in which to type our code ICDSAT. If the box is missing, please close completely out of the internet, and start over.) You MUST use our code ICDSAT to get the ADA hotel room rates.

Once on the ADA website which lists the availability of hotels, please note: To the left of each hotel, it will indicate the availability of rooms. Scroll down until you see a hotel with "Book Room" next to it. The hotels on your print out are listed alphabetically and numbered, so you can look at the map for a particular hotel and determine the distance to the Grand Hyatt (#11 on map).

TANZANIA - AN UPDATE

Last year your USA Section's Humanitarian Outreach Program collected funds to aid the ADA/Health Volunteers Overseas program to help serve the basic dental needs of 155,000 migrants living in the refugee camps of Tanzania.

The enormity of the problem is staggering, yet volunteers from the United States have joined with their African counterparts to slowly solve the problem. Refugee dental workers have been trained to travel with medical teams and perform dental first aid. A referral system has been set up to get those with serious conditions to hospitals or clinics for treatment. Preventive dental care promotions have begun throughout the camp.

ICD has made an impact. Through the Humanitarian Outreach Program we have donated two new dental operatories to the Kabanga Mission Hospital. This allowed the hospital to donate their original chairs to the Mtabila Refugee Camp and the Nyaragusu Camp. Each camp services 75,000 displaced persons.

In order to continue this and other important projects, the section is asking for financial support. All fellows should have received a card to fill out and send to the central office. In case you have misplaced it, please send tax deductible contributions to the USA Section Foundation - Humanitarian Outreach Program at 51 Monroe St., Suite #1400, Rockville, MD 20850 or you can call the central office at (301) 251-8861 or use the fax at (301) 738-9143 with your credit card information. For your security, do not email credit card information.

Your contribution will give a gift of hope to thousands in desperate need. Click this image to download a PDF contribution form.
