St. Louis Dentist Dr. Danielle M. Riordan Receives Distinguished Service Award
for her Outstanding Leadership,
Dedication and Commitment to the Success of the Greater St. Louis Dental Society
St. Louis - Greater St. Louis Dental Society member, Dr. Danielle M. Riordan, received the Dental Society’s Distinguished Service Award at the Society’s Annual Installation of Officers and Awards Ceremony on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Silver Oaks Chateau, in Pacific, Missouri.
Dr. Riordan was born to Mark and Phyllis Zust in Creve Coeur, MO in November of 1983. She graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy high school in 2002 and received her undergraduate degree from Southeast Missouri State University in 2006. Dr. Riordan graduated from UMKC in 2010. She was President of her class all four years of dental school and held multiple positions with in the school. On May 9, 2010, the day after she graduated from dental school, she and her husband Nick welcomed their first child, a son they named Daniel. On October 18, 2011 they welcomed their second child, a daughter they named Grace and on September 30, 2013 their 3rd child, Alice Ann, was born.
Dr. Riordan joined her father in practice at Family Dentistry of St. Peters after her maternity leave in the summer of 2010. She enjoys working and learning with her father. They both have the benefit of participating in community outreach and are both providers in Missouri’s Donated Dental Services, Give Kids a Smile, and MO Missions of Mercy. She currently works as adjunct faculty for UMKC to enable students from the School of Dentistry to come to St. Louis to participate in the GKAS biannual clinic under her supervision. She enjoys working with them and teaching them during these clinics. Although direct patient care is her passion, she has continued to stay active in organized dentistry and plans to continue doing so for the rest of her career. Although she has only been out of school for a short time, she has already held multiple leadership positions within several dental organizations. She is currently serving on the ADA Council of Membership and just finished her term on the Board of Directors for the Missouri Dental Association. She is still serving on the Board of Directors for Give Kids a Smile Inc. and the MDA Foundation. Additionally, she is a member of both the American College of Dentists and the International College of Dentists, both honorary organizations where only about 3.5% of dentists in the United States have been granted Fellowship.
When Dr. Riordan is not working or volunteering her time to the profession, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She and her family live a very active, hectic, yet beautiful life. She especially loves warm weather, spending time on the lake, and Cardinals baseball.
About Greater St. Louis Dental Society The Greater St. Louis Dental Society (GSLDS) is a non-profit organization with approximately 1,000 members in the Greater St. Louis area, representing all areas of dentistry. The GSLDS provides support to member dentists, helping them in their commitment to improve the dental health of St. Louis area residents. The organization’s mission is to lead, educate and advance the profession of dentistry for our members and the public we serve. The GSLDS is a component of the Missouri Dental Association, and American Dental Association.
