Our Volunteer Seminars are coordinated by the Humanitarian Liaison Committee (HLC) and held throughout the United States at various Dental Meetings. These seminars are designed for all dental team members who have always wanted to be involved in international or local dental volunteering but were unsure of where to start. The speaker will:

  • Give examples of both training and service projects, including being able to describe the basic goals and challenges of each type of project.
  • Outline the steps needed to get involved in a volunteer dental project including project selection, assembling the staff, equipping the project, paying for it all, and issues of personal safety.
  • Describe the characteristics of the ideal volunteer, some of the challenges that volunteers face at home and on-site, and identify resources for further information.
