Mission

The International College of Dentists is a not-for-profit organization which awards fellowships to dental professionals for conspicuous and meritorious service to the profession of dentistry. Fellows in the College continually strive to maintain and elevate the dignity of the profession through the highest standards of
ethical and professional conduct and are enjoined to recognize their responsibility to participate in the affairs of society as citizens in their community and throughout the world.

The International College of Dentists was formed to advance the science and art of dentistry for the health and welfare of the public; to bring together the world's outstanding members of the dental profession for the exchange of dental knowledge; to encourage the growth of the profession; and to promote cordial relations among dentists worldwide.


The objectives of the College and this Section as established are:

  1. To advance the science and art of dentistry for the welfare and health of the public.
  2. To encourage postgraduate study and research in the field of dental science and cognate subjects.
  3. To endeavor to unite outstanding members of the dental profession of the United States of America for the purpose of fostering growth and diffusion of dental knowledge, and to encourage an exchange of goodwill among the members of the profession throughout the world.
  4. To cultivate and foster cordial relations among those engaged in the profession of dentistry and other health professions.
  5. To take whatever action possible to cooperate with dentists and various organizations for the prevention and control of oral disorders, and all other conditions for the betterment of oral health.
  6. To maintain and elevate the dignity of the profession by the maintenance of the highest standard of ethical and professional conduct by its Members who are enjoined to recognize their responsibility to participate in the affairs of society as citizens of the community, to willingly accept responsibility for committee service in the fields of peer review, grievance, legislative, and the like, when requested and as appropriate.
  7. To perpetuate the history of dentistry.
  8. To recognize conspicuous and meritorious service to the profession and stimulate continuing efforts directed to the attainment of the objectives of the College by providing a method of granting Fellowship in the College.
  9. To encourage and support projects of a humanitarian nature.
