VOLUNTEER SEMINAR SERIES & SEMINAR RECORDINGS

Our Volunteer Seminar Series is coordinated by the ICD USA Section Humanitarian Liaison Committee (HLC) and these seminars are held in conjunction with Dental Meetings throughout the United States. These seminars are designed for all dental team members who have always wanted to be involved in international or local dental volunteering, but were unsure of where to start. The speaker will:
  • Give examples of both training and service projects, including being able to describe the basic goals and type of project.
  • Outline the steps needed to get involved in a volunteer dental project including project selection, assembling the staff, equipping the project, paying for it all, and issues of personal safety.
  • Describe the characteristics of the ideal volunteer, some of the challenges that volunteers face at home, and on-site and identify resources for further information.
