The USA Section of the International College of Dentists, as part of the preeminent honor society for dentists in the world:

  • Recognizes and promotes excellence in leadership with an emphasis on service,
  • Provides support to our Fellows and respect to our peers,
  • Addresses oral health needs and education throughout the world, and
  • Fosters an atmosphere of collaboration with those who share our values.

  • To be the leading honorary dental organization Serving Others worldwide.

The leadership of the International College of Dentists USA Section places a priority on the well-being of our Fellows, their families, patients, colleagues and friends throughout the world. We are committed to actively supporting those measures necessary to limit exposure to this emerging health threat. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), controlling exposures to occupational infections is a fundamental method of protecting health care personnel.  We encourage healthcare facilities to report any supply disruptions to deviceshortages@fda.hhs.gov. The CDC offers interim guidance for healthcare facilities and healthcare professionals.

The USA Section encourages all Fellows to follow the ADA's COVID-19 guidelines by only treating emergency patients at this time. Postpone elective procedures, surgeries, and non-urgent outpatient visits. As health care professionals, we all have a role to play in “flattening the curve” and dutifully following sound, scientific, public health advice to help limit infections and slow the spread of the virus. Social distancing may be the best way for ICD Fellows to "Serve Others" during these anxious and challenging times.
